Hulkenberg tests Arrow McLaren SP IndyCar

Nico Hulkenberg, former F1 driver for teams such as Renault and Force India, was recently given the opportunity to test-drive the Arrow McLaren SP IndyCar. Nico- nicknamed The Hulk- was “pleased to be back behind the wheel”

He revealed he “had trouble with the aeroscreen so it was a little bit difficult to feel immediately happy in the car.” By the afternoon, however, he had “made some good progress, also the lap times and the performance started to come in.”

We know that Alpine Academy member, Christian Lundgaard is joining “Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing” for the 2022 IndyCar season and Callum Ilott, FDA member, is currently competing for Juncos Hollinger Racing so it could be a good move for his career.

On the other hand, it could be seen as unfair due to the “Road to Indy” series already existing with promising drivers racing in that. This situation sparked serious debate on Twitter with one user saying “IndyCar is being treated like a waiting area for F1”, whilst many ex-F1 drivers have gone out to America and proved themselves- such as Romain Grosjean- is it really the best option?

We have other series like Formula E or the WEC which could be a good alternate option.

But could this mean a potential Indy move for the Hulk in the future? And would it be beneficial?
